Scorching hot start to the day but by the time we had left it had begun to cloud over, we stopped at Shanklin Parish Church to have lunch on the playing field. By the time we got to Shanklin old Village it had started to drizzle. 

Parked in the car park my eye was caught by this amazing shell, it was linked to the local 'Wishing Well' you can drop coins in any of the openings and watch them roll or slide down into the well.

Our main reason for coming to Shanklin was to visit the Chine, fortunately once in the Chine the rain did not seem to penetrate the depths.

Sorry the flower is out of focus but the leaf and rain drops look nice

here's a plant for the Fuschia 

 Giant Rhubarb or Gunnera manicata

And once we got to the bottom we had to walk all the way to the top but I did see this on the Esplanade outside a bar called The Steamer.
