Derwent Water

So after quiet weekend with the kids Steve, Chris and i decided to do one of the longest walks we have tackled in some years the circumnavigation of Derwent Water.

Setting of from Keswick in a clockwise direction this is a great walk if your not sure if you can make the 9 and a half miles as the Derwent Launches have a number of landing stages where you can catch the boat back to your start.

Starting at Keswick Marina pictures follow:

Looking North

Derwent Island

The Ruskin Memorial

Then we came across this strange stone in the water

The Chinese Bridge

Then we came across these South American interlopers!

Then in the grounds of Lingholm Hall

After having tea at Lingholm Café and Walled garden we finished the final two miles to Keswick in the rain.

  1. Hi Steve, really nice set and blog. Sue and I were there last year and thoroughly all enjoyed it.
Sorry we have not been around much this year as Sue has had a few problems.
Take care, hope to see you soon.
