Lake District 2014 Day four Leighton Moss

Ok technically Lieghton Moss is not in the Lake District in fact its not even in Cumbria but in Lancashire. Its the  largest reedbed in north-west England and run by RSPB as a nature reserve. In addition to the five hides in the 'moss' proper there are also two hides that look out over the edge of Morecambe Bay. The photos to day are all taken by Steve H.

In addition to the birds picture we also saw Little egret, Great White Egret, Blacktailed Godwit, Lapwing, Mute Swan, Bewick Swan, Blackbird, Teal, Widgeon, Coot, Morhen, Shoveler,  Wren, Longtailed Tit, House Sparrow, Mallard, Dunlin, Water Rail, Crow, Jackdaw, Jay, Magpie, Goldfinch and an Otter.
